Welcome to the web site page for the
Nashville TN Tri-Delta Alumnae Chapter!

Spring 2009

Welcome to the 2008 Crescent Award-winning Nashville TN Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Delta Delta web site page! It is packed full of vital information pertaining to our local area chapter. Regardless if you are new to Nashville or have lived here all your life, you will be connecting with many Delta sisters in ways that you least expect.

This 2008-09 year, our theme is to connect, network and inspire with each alumna, be it through our events, e-mail, newsletter, web site page, career networking, InCircle or word of mouth. Already, your alumnae officers have met and discussed ways to reach out even more to alumnae living in the Nashville area. We will provide more ways to connect through our quarterly e-newsletter so be sure to get on our distribution list.

Area Membership dues are payable once a year (preferably by December 1st) and are an important way to connect with us. Click here to pay your dues online. With over 1,000 Tri Deltas in the Nashville area (including Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Robertson, Wilson, Sumner, & Cheatham), it is a small way to support big your local alumnae chapter. Our goal for the next two years is to increase our dues paying membership by 25% or 30 people. Will you help us exceed our goal?

Another important goal for this year is to support not only our major philanthropy, the Eve of Janus Benefit, but to also support the Delta Delta Delta Foundation http://www.tridelta.org/foundation/, which is celebrating its 20th year. For the 2007-2008 academic year, 45 Tri Delta scholars were awarded $82,500 toward degrees. In 2007, collegiate and alumnae sisters in crisis received $70,000 from the Crescent Funds. Nearly $53,000 went to fraternity education and leadership programs in 2007 alone. Without donations, Tri Delta could not assist her members in every possible way. Our Foundation is a self-supporting, charitable organization created by Tri Deltas, for Tri Deltas. Our Nashville TN Alumnae Chapter’s goal is to raise $1,000 to contribute. Please contact our Foundation Representative for more information or make a donation https://www.tridelta.org/touchpoint/forms/foundation-donation.htm.

Last year, we threw down a challenge for each alumnae to reach out to three sisters that they’ve never met before (easily done if you attend one of our events), share a Tri Delta experience, and reconnect with a superb group of women that will reinforce why you made a lifelong commitment to this fraternity. This year, our challenge is to inspire one another to aim for a Tri Delta goal that’s never been dreamed possible. We’d like to share your personal testimony in a future e-newsletter and/or post it on the Inspire! Group via InCircle so please e-mail Greer Gray who is coordinating our newsletter.

Question is will you reach out and connect with us?

Delta Love,

Your 2009-2010 DDD Alumnae Officers

CONGRATULATIONS to the
Vanderbilt University Tri-Deltas as
Chapter of the Year

Delta Delta Delta was awarded Chapter of the Year for 2008-2009 from Vanderbilt University! In order to be eligible for Chapter of the Year, the chapter must meet at least 27 out of 30 Vanderbilt Fraternity and Sorority Standards in the areas of campus involvement, chapter operations, community service and philanthropy, education, intellectual development, leadership, risk management and values integration.

Tri Delta achieved 30 out of 30 standards this year, raised a combined $63,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the Monroe Carell Junior Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and 100% of their members are involved in campus organizations.

They have developed 10 “sister squads” which compete against each other and earn points by attending and participating in various campus events. It has been their goal to develop new programs and ways for doing things in an effort to sustain chapter excellence.

They worked very hard to improve their relationship with their national organization, and improved their accreditation scores from 75 to 92 this past year. They pride themselves on creating a strong sense of sisterhood, developing close relationships among its members, and incorporating ritual into their daily lives.
