Get Involved, Alumnae!!!

Interested in getting involved with your local alumnae chapter? So are lots of other Deltas. Whether you are new to town or seeking friendship, we would like to present ways for you to do so. Obviously, if you have the time and are willing to commit, taking an alumnae chapter officer position is well worth it.

Our Alumnae Chapter has developed wonderful social groups, and we encourage all to participate in at least one.

• President - Presides at all meetings, be an ex-officio member of all committees, reports all action taken or recommended by the executive committee, coordinates the work of all officers and committees, responsible for reports to official personnel of the Fraternity, distributes official mailings, attends advisory committee/officers' meetings, serves as delegate to Convention, writes newsletter for membership, & delegates where possible chapter responsibilities
  
• President-elect - Understands and mentors current President, Chairs membership committee, assumes duties of President in her absence
• Vice-President - Assists with social events scheduled and represents President when necessary
• Treasurer - Collects membership dues, prepares budget & pays expenses
  
• Secretary (Corresponding) - Handles all business and social correspondance, publishes yearbook, compiles and sends reports at Presidents request, prepares meeting announcements and invitations, maintains membership databases
• Secretary (Recording) - Responsible for minutes of all meetings, responsible for revising alumnae chapter bylaws annually, The Trident correspondant, & assists President with quarterly e-newsletter
• Reference Chairman - Secures references and responds to requests from collegiate chapters
• Tri Psi Chairman (Hospitality to welcome new members) - Greets newly recruited members at each meeting, contacts new alumnae via e-mail, coordinates activities for new members & oversees area leaders
• Foundation Representative - Serves as a liasison between the Foundation and alumnae chapter
• Panhellenic Representative(s) - Attends all Nashville TN panhellenic council meetings, provides list of area girls and their colleges to the reference chairman
• Nominations Committee - Oversees placement of alumnae in officer positions and presents next year's officer slate which the chapter votes on in the spring
• Eve of Janus Board Chair (Philanthropy) - Oversees our chapter's major fundraiser with the support of a board & is a nonvoting member on the Board for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital
• Eve of Janus Chairmen & Committees - Oversees that year's fundraising event & work in conjuction with the Friends Office at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital www.eveofjanus.com
  
• Alumnae Collegiate Committee including chair, lifetime membership chair and finance chair - Develops relationship between collegiate and alumnae chapters, coordinates activities between alumnae and collegians & assists collegiate chapter with finances, lifetime membership and other alumnae support
• House Corporations (Vanderbilt University) - Manages the day to day operation of the Vanderbilt University Tri Delta house & oversees a committee that assists with its maintenance
  
• Career Day Chair (Songs of Success) - Responsible for coordinating with collegiate officer regarding event, recruits panel speakers & alumnae that represent the various industries, and overseeing all apsects of the event that is held every three years
• Founder's Day Chairman (Fall - November) - Make arrangements for the annual celebration including finding a speaker, notifying members, decorations, programs and reservations
• Pansy Degree Chairman (Spring - March/April) - Plans degree event as well as social in the Spring
• Alumnae Chapter Advisory Board - Provide support and guidance to local alumnae chapter officer/leaders, assist with alumnae officer recruitment for the slate, mentor presiding alumnae officers and/or leaders in chapter, meet & discuss important issues with the intent of making recommendations to the officers, regional alumnae officers and others
• Area Leaders (Hospitality) - Report to Hospitality Chair & foster alumnae relations within local region through social events
